Deculturalization of Culturally Bound Meaning: Indonesian-English Translation Evidence

The study is aimed at examining the phenomenon of deculturalization in strategy translating cultural terms Indonesian literary texts into English, and its implications for form meaning target text. It a descriptive translation focusing on objective aspect translation, form, meaning. results show that representation culturally bound appears as words, phrases, terms, or expressions under categories (1) material culture, (2) social (3) organization, customs, activities, concepts, (4) gesture habits. In process pure blended strategies were applied resulting three equivalent typologies including but not correspondent, does correspond due to different scope meaning, zero nil equivalent.
